Franklin Endowed Lecturer
Shu Chien, M.D., Ph.D.
Professor of Bioengineering and Medicine at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Chien focuses on molecular mechanisms of the regulation of vascular functions with a special emphasis on the transduction of mechanical stimuli into intracellular signaling and the resulting gene expression and functional responses in health and disease.
Dr. Chien will discuss "Effects of shear flow on interactions between endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells".
