Research Description

The Nano-Biotech Group is developing a novel technology for single molecule detection by using using engineered Nanopore, which can be used to solve biomedical problems, e.g. tracking cellular components, probing biochemical reaction, investigating bio-transportation, protein-ligand recognition, special properties of designed biopolymers, detecting pharmaceuticals and pathogen traces. The Nanopore-based Single Molecule Detection could also play important role in proteomics and genomics.

Pico-ampere (10-12 A) current recording technique and molecular biology are applied, and will combine with nanofabrication and bio-MEMS in the future.
