Keynote Speaker

Dr. John P. Cooke M.D. Ph.D.Dr. John P. Cooke, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. John Cooke is a Professor and Chair of Cardiovascular Sciences at Institute for Academic Medicine, Houston Methodist, Weill Cornell Medical College.  Trained in cardiovascular medicine and obtained a Ph.D. in physiology at the Mayo Clinic, he went on to be an assistant professor of medicine at the Harvard Medical School.  He moved to Stanford University to be appointed Professor in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and associate director of the Stanford Cardiovascular Institute.  In 2013 he was recruited to Houston Methodist. Dr. Cooke’s research focuses on restoration or stimulation of endothelial functions such as vasodilation and angiogenesis, using small molecules or stem cell therapies.
